Message from the Commissioner of Disaster Risk Management, South West Ethiopia Region

Dear Citizens, Partners, and Stakeholders,

It is my great honor to extend my sincere greetings to all residents of the South West Ethiopia Region and to our development partners who continue to support our efforts in building resilient communities.

Our region faces various challenges, including climate-related hazards, public health emergencies, and other risks that can affect lives, livelihoods, and sustainable development. As the Regional Bureau of Disaster Risk Management, we remain committed to strengthening disaster preparedness, enhancing early warning systems, and ensuring timely and effective response mechanisms.

Disaster risk management is a shared responsibility. Success requires the active participation of government institutions, communities, civil society organizations, the private sector, and development partners. Through collaboration and collective action, we can reduce vulnerabilities and protect our communities from the impacts of disasters.

I encourage all citizens to remain vigilant, follow official advisories, and actively participate in community-based preparedness activities. Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more resilient South West Ethiopia Region.

On behalf of the Bureau, I express my gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued cooperation and dedication. Let us continue working hand in hand to safeguard lives, livelihoods, and our shared future.

Thank you.

Dr. Lemma
